Volunteers for Share the Dignity’s ‘It’s in the Bag’ campaign collected donated handbags stuffed with goodies and passed them on to local charities. From there, the bags will be given to women in need for some Christmas cheer.
Volunteer Gloria Rozario said all bags would be delivered a few weeks before Christmas.
“The drive started slow, but picked up momentum after the first week, with beautiful and very generously filled bags being donated,” she said.
“We are looking for more volunteers, more collection points and more charities and organisations that see and support our women-in-need to join us.”
Share the Dignity’s next campaign will be for sanitary products in April, 2017.
