The Southern Highlands Sailing Club (SHSC) hosted a ‘Discover Sailing Day’ on Sunday which allowed new sailors to experience the thrill of sailing at SHSC.
The club has sent out a warm welcome new members and has invited any member of the community to join the club.
Races were held for catamarans on VYA yardsticks and catamarans in round six of the Commodore’s Cup.
In race one Warren Bovis came in first on a GEM 550 TY, followed by Eric Cadell on Laser Std Olympic dinghy.
Kylie Woods came in third position on a Hobie 14 Turbo Cat. The Southern Highlands Sailing Club handicapper Gary Eisdale said Kylie Woods put in a great effort in her first race.
George Lemann came in at top spot in race two on a Windrush 14 Sq top, followed by Richard Hastings on a Nacra 14 sqm.
The Southern Highlands Sailing club will meet at Fitzroy Dam every Sunday for the duration of the spring season.
