More than 60 Tudor House students competed in the school Triathlon on November 30.
The Tudor House Triathlon has been an event at the school for the past 26 years.
The athletic event was open to boys in Years 3-6, and participants had the option of competing as an individual or in a team of three, with each participant completing a different leg.
The event was made up of 200 metres of swimming (eight laps of the school pool), a two kilometre bike ride and 1500m of running.
Students practised their skills on a weekly basis in the lead-up, with lessons including how to change bike gears correctly.
A number of new records were set at this year’s event.
Tyler Sallis won the Year 3 individual category, and completed the enduring event with a time of 37.36.
Lachlan Dudley came in second with a time of 55.06.
In the Year 4 individual event, Phoenix Sparke took top spot with a time of 22.48. Pheonix also won the Musgrove Trophy (junior)
Preston Scott closely followed with a time of 24.18 and Jaxon Jordan came in third place with a time of 26.32.
Alister Yaffa set a new record in the Year 5 individual event. He completed the triathlon in a fast time of 20.25, and also won the Penman Trophy (senior).
Mac Collins finished the event hot on Alister’s heels with a time of 20.57.
Jock Rankin took third place with a time of 23.31.
Another record was set in the Year 6 individual event.
Rex Sparke took first place in a record time of 20.54.
Zac Harris finished in second place with a time of 22.12 and Monty Clarke finished third with a time of 22.49.
After the individual events, the team events were held.
In the Year 3 team event, Jack Fuller (swim), Rich Estens (bike) and Teddy Wilkins (run) took first place with a time of 25.13.
Apollo McInerney (swim), Christian Binns (bike) and Minal Rowjee (run) came second with a time of 29.49.
In the Year 4 team event, D’Arcy Vaughan Jones (swim), Ottot Leah (bike) and Inigo McVinish finished first with a time of 21.25.
Elliot Hamer (swim), Jack Clancy (bike) and Hunter Ritchie (run) finished second with a time 22.04.
Sam Gipson (swim), Pat Muldoon (bike) and Archie McLean won the Year 5 team event and set a new record with a time of 19.47. Dan Long (swim), John Smedley (bike, run) came in second with a time of 23.49. Ryu Nunthirapakorn (swim), Nik Bojanac (bike) and Raph Saxbee (run) finished the Year 6 team event in first place with a final time of 21.39.
