“I’m honestly not 100% clear yet, but definitely hope to secure a well-paying job in the world of business - maybe an Accountant or Financial Planner” Daniel said.
Daniel’s subjects in the Bachelor of Business degree offers the broadest possible study of business concepts to prepare graduates to enter a range of careers in the corporate world.
UOW Southern Highlands also offers a Bachelor of Commerce degree which allows a deeper specialisation in particular fields of study – including a professional accredited major in Accounting, and a major in Management.
”After hearing of all the job opportunities that are opened up exclusively to those with University degrees, I couldn’t miss out on that!” Daniel said.
It is a well-established fact that those who have completed a Bachelor degree have the capacity to earn a much higher income than those without a degree.
According to the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling (NATSEM) report released in 2012: “someone who has a bachelor degree is likely to earn about $2.9 million over their lifetime. That compares with $2.07 million for someone who has a year 12 qualification or just $1.74 million for a person whose highest level of education is year 11.” [1]
That’s 40% higher earning potential for bachelor degree graduation compared to those with Year 12.
Students at UOW Southern Highlands have access to a regional career consultant on campus who coordinates work integrated learning programs, internships in the Highlands region, regular career workshops on campus, and is available for individual consultation to help students enter the workforce after graduation.
So Daniel can be confident he will have the best possible advice to help him decide which direction to follow in the business world, and to land that well-paying job he is after.
Daniel says that it was an easy decision to study at the Southern Highlands campus: it was the closest and most convenient University near where I live, and with the right degree I was after. Not to mention how highly regarded UOW is as a whole”.
