“When I was accepted into UOW, the university called me and said my course was offered at Southern Highlands which is much closer for me and very convenient so it was an easy decision really”.
Billy decided to study a full-time study load of four subjects per session in order to complete his degree in three years.
Billy said “I study four subjects so I can complete my degree in a three year time period and move towards my career faster. It can get pretty busy but once you’re in a study routine it takes a lot of pressure away which allows me to balance study, work and playing basketball.”
Billy plays for the Moss Vale Magic Youth League basketball team.
After completing the Bachelor of Arts he has aspirations of continuing on to study the Master of Teaching in 2019 to become a primary school teacher.
“I like that most students at the Southern Highlands campus know one another and everyone gets along so it makes it a pretty relaxed environment. Everyone is just there to help each other achieve their goals.”
