Aside from the buzz of excitement shared between hundreds of elegantly-dressed attendees, a shared understanding of one particular key element of business was clear: team work.
More than 25 businesses at the 2016 Southern Highland Business Awards on October 19 were recognised as the crème de la crème of Highlands businesses. And near on every single business representative who accepted an award thanked their staff and co-workers for making the achievement possible.
Jane Underwood, Wembley Road Preschool owner, accepted the Best Childcare Service Award and said her team was crucial to the centre’s success. “I could not have done this without my staff,” she said.
The sentiment was echoed right up to the top honour, with Harris Farm Markets named Business of the Year. A very grateful Vince Fedele, store manager, and Carol Brown, operations manager, accepted the award on behalf of business owners David and Catherine Harris. “Our business is growing every day,” Mr Fedele said.
Southern Highlands Private Hospital chief executive Jenny Harper was recognised individually as Business Person of the Year, and the hospital was also awarded as the Most Outstanding Health Improvement Service. “Wow, all I can say is wow. I am absolutely thrilled, I couldn’t do this without the fabulous staff I have,” Ms Harper said.
Congratulations to all winners and nominees for the services they passionately offer to our local community.
