Saturday was another day of strong winds, a north-westerly breeze of 10-15 knots greeted the fleet and made for some fast sailing.
A new starting arrangement was tried for the first round. A split start was used and monos were off after the ten minutes gun, followed 5 minutes later by the faster catamarans.
Southern Highlands Sailing Club handicapper Gary Esdaile said the new arrangement was favourably accepted.
“It gave the cats a chase rather than being chased and it meant for a much safer start for all,” he said.
Tim Vandevoort won the first mono race on Spiral dinghy, while Patrick Lartger came in second place on Laser Std Olympic dinghy. Vandevoort also took victory in race two, and Will Murton finished second on Laser Std Olympic dinghy. George Lemann won both catamaran races on Windrush 14 Super Cat, while Phil Wles came in second place in race one and Richard Hasting finished in second spot in race two.
