Roads and Maritime Services installed new traffic lights earlier this year at the intersection, which were switched on in July.
The NSW Government allocated $900,000 to remove the existing roundabout with the aim to improve traffic flow and road user safety, particularly for pedestrians.
New line marking will be carried out on the road shoulder on Merrigang Street and the eastern and western approaches to Bong Bong Street on October 18.
To minimise the impact to traffic, work will be carried out between 8pm and 2am, weather permitting.
Changed traffic conditions will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists including a reduced 40 km/h speed limit and traffic control.
Every effort will be made to minimise noise associated with the work.
Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
