THE latest round of social bowls ended with some very close scores.
Four matches ended up with a winning margin of one shot in some very keenly played matches at Bowral Bowling Club recently.
Mickey Clarke, Jill Edey and Mick Flynn defeated Neville Tanner, Laurie Edey and Bill Dodwell 16-15.
At times, team Flynn looked as if they had the upper hand when they led 8-3 after seven ends, and then 14-8 after 13 ends.
Then team Dodwell won seven of the last eight ends for team Flynn to hang on for a one shot win.
Owen Williams and Bruce Clynes defeated Brian Porter and Dennis Beatty 17-16.
Williams and Clynes led 7-3 after seven ends and extended this to 10-4 after ten ends.
Porter and Beatty fought back and took the lead for the first time in the match 16-12.
Williams and Clynes then won the last four ends to take the match by one shot.
