The ‘Trucks Across the Highlands’ convoy is into its fourth year, and monies raised will go to the BDCU Children’s Foundation.
Organiser Rodney South said he expected about 70 heavy vehicles to take part in the convoy.
“We’ve raised more than $40,000 over the past three years, and it keeps growing,” he said.
He said the idea of the convoy came about when he and other truck drivers were talking about how to help children in the area.
“A few of the blokes have had trouble with their kids, and we thought we should do something,” he said.
“If we can help someone less fortunate than us, that’s great, that’s the way we’ve been bought up.”
The convoy will proceed through Mittagong and Bowral on October 15 from 9.00am, and will finish at Moss Vale showground.
There will be live music, vehicle displays, children’s rides, food stalls and miniature railway rides.
