Gentlemen’s Luncheon
TICKETS are still available for this year’s Gentlemen’s Luncheon to be held on October 21. Now in its 28th year the luncheon is an initiative of the Kollege of Knowledge Kommittee for Kids Inc (4Ks) which supports children with special needs in the Southern Highlands. The 4Ks have raised more than $2.5 million with the Ladies Luncheon and Gentlemen’s Luncheon held over the years.
The 4Ks raised $240,000 through the two luncheons in 2015 and committee members hope to exceed this tally in 2016 with more than $40,000 already raised through the Ladies Luncheon held in early September. The Gentlemen’s Luncheon will be held at Highlands Golf Club Mittagong from midday on October 21 with the special guest for the day being “The Big Marn” Darryl Brohman. MC for the day is Paul Milner and auctioneer is Nick Johnson. Sponsorship pledges and donations of items for fundraising activities including an auction can be made through 4K president Tony Springett on 0414 622 222 or email tony@spingetts.com.au Tickets for the event are $180 per person and bookings can be made online at www.trybooking.com/MWRD

View Club
THE next dinner meeting of the Southern Highlands Evening VIEW Club will be held on October 10 in the Alexandra Room of Mittagong RSL Club. It will begin at 7.00pm. This will be a Cake and Plant Night to raise funds for our three "Learning for Life Students" Noah, Joshua and Bradley. The club’s talented cooks are planning an array of yummy cakes, slices and cookies and the team of green fingered ladies have been potting up plants for your spring garden. To book call Kath Gasson on 48713924 before 6.00 pm on the Sunday prior to the meeting. Sponsorship for the learning for life students enables them to have practical help with their education. Funds go towards buying essential school items such as the correct uniforms, shoes and text books; covering excursion costs so they can just fit in with their classmates so they no longer stand out as a disadvantaged child. View Club gives them a hand up, not a hand out. This sponsorship also gives Noah, Joshua and Bradley motivation just by showing that someone they haven't met cares enough to invest in their future and the club looks forward to hearing from the students - learning of their progress, their hopes and their dreams for the future.
