Ginette recently competed in her first bikini competition at the South Coast classic in the International Natural Bodybuilding Association federation.
She competed in the over-40s category and took home a silver medal and placed sixth in the bikini mum’s category. Ginette’s decision to participate in her first competition was influenced by the physical demands of her job.
“Working in a disability house, I have one lady that is 100 kilograms and I need to lift her, so I needed to be fit and physically active for the job,” she said.
She trained six days a week with Thomas Willoughby from Plus Fitness Mittagong to prepare for the competition.
Ginette said she was proud of her performance at the event.
“For me it was about a sense of achievement, that anyone can do whatever they set their mind to. Especially as an older person, I wanted to show that I could do it.”
