This is how Moss Vale Aerial Silks instructor Cassie Tate described just what aerial silks is all about.
And the girls that are a part of Moss Vale Aerial Silks will showcase their skills later this year.
The program is run through Moss Vale Gymnastics.
This year is the fourth year the program has run and Ms Tate said she had just under 20 girls across two classes from the age of eight up to mid teens.
“Aerial silks is primarily a circus art,” she said.
“You physically have to climb your way up the silk, wrap yourself into different poses and then you can do drops from there.
Ms Tate said the students who had previous gymnastics experience tended to progress faster.
“A lot of my gymnasts that have come into aerial silks have already got that foundation of strength and they progress along faster in the silks program.”
The showcase will run for two hours (2pm-4pm) on December 11 at the Moss Vale Showground, with each other the girls having three to four routines.
The entry cost will be $10 for adults and $5 for children.
Ms Tate also runs an adult aerial silks class.
