Berry Hockey Club was formed in 1946 with 20 members.
The first committee was made up of Merle Robertson (president), Barbara Turner and Margaret Dunn (secretaries).
The first year consisted of social games against teams such as Milton, Wollongong and Nowra and the second year (1947) saw Berry go through as undefeated premiers
Club life members include Lyn Brandon, Debbie Woolford, Jenny Warden, Merle McPhee and Jan Richards.
Having primarily competed in the South Coast Competition at Albion Park, this year the club has made the move to the Shoalhaven Competition being played in North Nowra where it has Division 1 and 2 women’s teams.
As well as developing existing teams, this year the club has made the move to promote the development of the junior competition and to encourage those younger players to give hockey a try.
Berry Hockey Club prides itself on being one of the most social and friendly clubs in the area and without support from the local community and businesses the club would not be where it is today.
