Residents living near Mittagong Creek in Bowral will probably all come to the same conclusion which is "nothing".
Despite all the expensive studies and plans our local drain is still the inadequate rubbish dump it has been for years.
All new development in the area will ensure it gets more and more run-off as we saw recently with virtually nothing done to help the creek and residents cope with it all.
One wonders if any councillor has read the policies generated from all the dust gathering studies and plans.
If not could I suggest they look on the internet under WSC Flood Prone Land Policy which with other things quotes:-
"The impact of flooding and flood liability on existing developed areas identified in Floodplain Risk Management Plans shall be reduced by flood mitigation works and measures" etc, etc.(note the word shall)
No action in this regard, plus certificates consultant Drew Bewsher stated were misleading, is hardly acting in good faith.
Time to vote for councillors who will make things happen.

‘Rollercoaster’ road a disgrace
IT seems that road building in the Southern Highlands has stooped to a new low.
My daughter lives on Bong Bong Street at Mittagong.
This has been closed for the past few months for NBN, curb and guttering and a new road surface.
It was opened this morning (August 22) so I went for a drive down it to have a look.
It seems someone decided to give the residents a new rollercoaster instead of a road.
Even at 30 or 40 kph you are going over humps and through dips and lumps that toss you about in the cabin.
It’s an absolute bloody disgrace!
This is a “Hot Mix” road, not your average grade it and throw down some tar and rocks.
Whoever did this should be made to come back and rip it up and do it properly without pay.
Another reason to vote “None of the Current” next month.
