The 100th Bowral Parkrun event will be held this Saturday at The Briars at 8am.
Organisers will celebrate the milestone with a “Christmas in August” run.
Runners of all ages and abilities are invited to head along for the event.
One of the organisers, Barry Smith, said it was a big milestone for the group.
“There are about 1000 people in the area who have tried parkrun,” he said.
“We have 40 to 60 people here each week and it’s getting busier all of the time.”
Smith said the event attracted runners from the age of five up to 86 years of age.
He said parkrun was a “good way to start your weekend”.
“It’s free to enter and that’s a big bonus for people.
“It’s not a race against others, it’s a test against yourself.’
Parkrun started in the Highlands in 2014.
It is a weekly timed 5km community run or walk event.
Smith urged people to register for parkrun at www.parkrun.com.au before heading to the event.
