The Alpine/Aylmerton RFS brigade has launched a recruitment drive for new members.
The brigade is running a barbecue fundraiser to promote the RFS outside Saddleworld Mittagong today (Saturday).
Highlanders are invited to enjoy a sausage sizzle today and meet their local RFS members.
Alpine/Aylmerton RFS captain Mark Cupitt said the event coincided with Saddleworld Mittagong's first birthday celebrations.
Mr Cupitt said his brigade had 23 active members.
"We are looking for new members," he said.
"It's very rewarding to be part of a crew supporting the local community and the wider community across NSW."
Mr Cupitt said brigade members met every Wednesday night at the station on Aylmerton Road.
He welcomed any interested people to go to one of the meetings.
The brigade is looking for adults and junior members (14 to 16 years).

Saddleworld Mittagong is located at 5/11 Pikkat Drive, Braemar.
The barbecue will run until about 2pm today.
