Storm damage update:
DAMAGE to public infrastructure from the June 4-6 storm will be presented to councillors.
An indicative estimate for the restoration of roads, drainage and bridges as a result of the storm is $2.114 million, while the cost to clear roads of fallen trees and debris is $144,000.
The restoration estimates are outside of council's Infrastructure Maintenance Budget for 2016/17 financial year, and therefore no major repairs have been undertaken pending approval from relevant authorities.
Council staff members have planned to apply for state funding through the National Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
A further report will be presented to the Finance Committee on August 17 outlining the proposed works schedule, funding considerations and the likely impacts on the delivery of the 2016/17 Capital Works Program.
