TWO semi-finals of the Bowral Bowling Club handicap pairs were played on Saturday.
Brian Payne and Neil Lewis defeated Barry O'Brien and Don Coleman by 20-16.
Payne and Lewis were given a two-shot handicap start.
With this advantage, the pair led 6-3 after six ends.
Payne and Lewis proved the better side and held a 15-8 lead after 13 ends.
But O'Brien and Coleman picked up seven shots to draw level at 15-all after 16 ends.
Some inspired display of bowls by Payne and Lewis then got them into the final, winning by four shots.
In the other semi-final, Jack Tonkin and Ashley Lewis won 27-22 over Neville Ridge and Dennis Beatty.
Ridge and Beatty held a five-shot handicap start.
But Tonkin and Lewis picked up five shots on the first end to draw level immediately.
Ridge and Beatty hit back to go to a 10-6 lead after six ends.
But Tonkin and Lewis picked up 11 shots in four ends to go to a 17-10 lead.
The pair then led 20-12 and looked to have sealed the game.
Ridge and Beatty then started to take their chances and drew level at 21-all with two ends to play.
Ridge and Beatty then dropped six shots on the 20th end.
Tonkin and Lewis moved into the final with a five-shot win.
