It seems council is going to save money by not doing anything to reduce flooding along Mittagong Creek.
Apparently not enough properties get flooded so the cost of repairing flood damage is less than the cost of stopping it from happening.
So no detention basin, no augmenting of the creek to increase capacity and flow or anything else.
I wonder what all the Insurance companies would think about that.
For all those who did not quite get their floors wet hang in there as the new Retford Park development will help to ensure it may happen next time.
I guess with only a 45 per cent increase in rates over the next few years we can't expect too much can we?
