Destructive winds and consistent heavy rainfall has caused plenty of concern across the region.
The Wingecarribee State Emergency Service (SES) unit has received more than 130 requests for assistance during the 16 hours between midnight and 4pm Sunday.
The SES has received support from Rural Fire Service (RFS) crews and local police as it aims to provide help for the Highlands community.
Local SES controller Warren Turner said about nine tonnes of sand had been sent to areas in need since midnight Sunday.
“And we have called for another three tonnes of sand,” he said.
One of the most affected areas across the Highlands has been Robertson.
Robertson received 184 millimetres of rain between 9am and 5pm on Sunday.
Several roads have also been closed across the region, including the Illawarra Highway at Jamberoo Mountain Road.
Mr Turner said the rainfall was likely to continue for the next few hours.
He thanked the RFS and police for assistance today.
“Everyone has been chipping in to help out,” he said.
