HIGHLANDS motorsport driver David Stone showed great consistency at Wakefield Park last weekend.
Stone and Andy Harris represented the Highlands in round three of the MX5 Cup at the Goulburn motorsport track.
Stone achieved three top five placings while Andy also showed promise behind the wheel.
Andy finished second in qualifying and Stone took sixth place.
In race one, Stone crossed the line in fourth spot and Andy finished in last place.
Andy was forced to make a pit stop due to an electrical glitch in his car's computer.
While it was a minor issue, the short stop pushed Andy back in the pack.
In race two, Stone took fifth place and Andy recovered to secure a sixth place.
Andy's performance included a personal best fastest lap time of one minute and 6.5 seconds.
Stone was involved in a collision with another vehicle, but there was only minor damage to his car.
The third race was the main event of the round, the trophy race.
Andy secured a third place finish and Stone took fifth position.
Andy's dad Russell Harris said it was a solid outing for the two Highlands drivers.
"The only two drivers ahead of them all day had turbo cars," he said.
"Andy's new car [a MX5 NC] handled really well and David drove well too."
Andy and Stone will now prepare to compete in the production sports class at Eastern Creek Raceway this weekend.
