Four Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) stations in the Highlands opened their doors to the public for four hours.
Mittagong, Bowral, Moss Vale and Bundanoon stations took part in the FRNSW's annual Open Day.
There were a range of activities on offer and speeches by local fire fighters.
Bowral's session included a senior safety presentation and a demonstration on kitchen fire safety.
The FRNSW event at Mittagong was interrupted when fire fighters were called out to assist at a hazard reduction burn at Greater Mt Alexandra Reserve.
