THE Bob Hall Cup is still up for grabs after an exciting day of rugby league on Saturday.
Moss Vale Dragons hosted rivals Mittagong Lions in four Group 6 Junior Rugby League (JRL) games.
The cup is named in honour of local JRL and Mittagong Lions stalwart Bob Hall.
Moss Vale and Mittagong's teams met in the under-12s, under-14s, under-16As and under-16Bs grades at Community Oval.
The honours were split on Saturday, with Moss Vale winning two games and Mittagong victorious in the other two.
The Moss Vale under-12s recorded a 34-6 victory and the Dragons under-16As won 16-4.
In between those games, Mittagong's under-14s won (score not available) and the Lions under-16Bs sealed a 28-4 victory.
Each victorious team accumulated two points for its club in the Bob Hall Cup competition.
The results mean the Dragons and Lions are equal on four points after the first round.
A return round will be played at Mittagong Sports Ground in the coming months.
Dragons junior club president Matt Burke said the Bob Hall Cup was a success on Saturday.
"It was a great day, one of the best days we've had for a while," he said.
"The weather was good and we had an increase in [supporter] numbers.
"Everyone was happy and we look forward to round two at Mittagong."
The first Bob Hall Cup was contested in 2012.
The Lions have won the cup every year.
