Cameron Butcher and Jessica Gacki-O'Sullivan won the BDSA junior honour and Sam Tait was named senior champion.
The BDSA committee recognises the best junior and senior athletes in the Highlands each month over a 12- month period.
Cameron had an exceptional month achieving feats in not one, but four sports.
From local competitions to national levels, Cameron was part of the runner-up team in division B for water polo.
He was a runner-up age champion in the Chevalier College Swimming Carnival, he was then a NSW team member in the All Schools triathlon team and then finished second in the Year 9/10 division of the Australian Mountain Bike Championships.
Cameron was also a member of the team that came third overall at the mountain championship.
Jessica was recognised for her achievements in equestrian.
The difference between first and second in many sports can be very close.
In a pressure environment of the Royal Easter Show, the difference can come down to the smallest difference.
Jessica won the champion senior girl rider on a horse that she borrowed.
It can take many hours of riding for a rider and horse to become comfortable with each other.
This showed Jessica's skill to take a horse that she had ridden for a short period and to achieve success.
The BDSA senior champion was Sam Tait for CrossFit.
CrossFit is one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
CrossFit requires an athlete to do a variety of movements using varied groups of muscles showing off their overall fitness.
Sam has the added challenge of doing this from a wheelchair.
This requires Sam to do all his movements using only his upper body strength.
This extra challenge is met with amazing determination to constantly push Sam to even greater heights with his coming sixth in the worldwide WheelWOD CrossFit Open competition.
Sam has shown an attitude and belief in not accepting limits and constantly chasing greater levels of achievements.
