THE Bowral Blacks broke a long-standing club milestone on Saturday.
The Blacks two senior teams recorded wins on the same day at Eridge Park, which hasn't occurred for close to a decade.
Bowral hosted the Tech Tahs in two matches in the Illawarra Rugby Competition.
The Blacks' first grade side sealed a 48-24 win and Bowral's second grade side won 27-14.
Blacks head coach Gene Fairbanks said it was an outstanding weekend for the club.
"It's been around the 10-year mark since we had two wins at home on the same day," he said.
"We have been working hard on our fitness and skills.
"Our line out and scrum work were both good on Saturday."
Bowral's second grade started the run with a 13-point win.
Fairbanks said highlights included a length-of-the-field try scored by veteran Carlos Rahme.
"Our second grade boys played great and it set up the day for the first grade players," he said.
"It gave us confidence and it shows that the guys are working hard, week in, week out."
Bowral's first grade side started in red-hot form, scoring three tries early.
Fairbanks said the team had almost sealed the game by half time.
"The boys started really well, they were fired up and excited," he said.
"We stuck to our structure and the boys carried the ball with aggression."
Tech Tahs fought their way back into the contest, before Bowral scored late tries to run out with a 24-point victory.
Half back Tim Small received the three player votes for the Blacks.
In his first top grade game for the year, Callum Houston received two points and outside centre Fetarika Saga received one point.
Other standouts for Bowral included Luke Debono, Mark Freund, Nick Howard, Henry Yuill and Dan Collins.
