CHEVALIER College recently contested the latest round of Independent Sporting Association (ISA) matches.
There were some excellent matches across all sports.
At Chev, the first grade softballers took on Barker College.
Chev's girls had been well prepared by coach Rob Graham.
In a tight match, the score was 6-3 in favour of Barker after two innings.
A couple of fielding mishaps in the third innings allowed Barker to get maximum runners home, resulting in a final 13-3 score line.
Chev's best were Erin McGuinness, Megan O'Hea and Ruby Evans.
In other softball results, Chev's open seconds, open thirds and junior As travelled to the Central Coast.
All matches were close.
Chev's two open teams were pipped and the Junior As won by a couple of runs.
The junior blue and maroon teams travelled to Oxley and didn't quite perform for the full matches.
A good innings in each game wasn't quite enough to get a winning result.
In the basketball at Moss Vale, it was a great morning of matches against St Pius.
The Chev 14s managed a good win and the 13s and 17s were involved in close games.
For the 13s, Jeremy Butcher and Jackson Philp were the main scorers.
Izack Burke was best on court for the 14s.
In the 15s, Chev played a solid game.
Luke Lindsay and Rory Blatch did well in a good team effort.
The Chev firsts led for all but the final minute of its game.
Chev's best were Zac Ottosson, Josh Watts and Brandon Friere.
In the cricket, the Chev firsts were pleased that co-captain Lauren Cheatle was available to play in a local derby against Oxley.
Chev managed to post a reasonable target, with most players contributing in a total of 151 runs.
Billy McGuinness top scored with 28.
Coach Matt Bourke was pleased the team batted for the maximum overs for the first time this season.
The Chev bowlers then gave Oxley no room or balls to hit, and wickets fell steadily.
Jay Herrod took 4/18 and Oxley could only manage 52 in its chase.
Ex-student Pat Virtue was behind the stumps umpiring.
