BOWRAL Bowling Club recently hosted several social matches.
Joel Hunt and Jack Tonkin had a 15-all draw with Peter Oates and Ian Crow.
Oates and Crow took a 9-3 lead early, but team Tonkin soon bounced back.
After a classic battle, the match ended in a draw.
Howard Lewis and Don Weller defeated Bob Kennett and Barry Werfel by 26-17.
Despite some good bowls by team Werfel, Lewis and Weller recorded victory by nine shots.
Thrilling clash
SEVERAL matches were held in wet conditions at Bowral recently.
The match of the day went down to the last end and was very low scoring.
Barry O'Brien, Don Weller, Ken Looke and Ian O'Farrell defeated John Edmonds, Bill Donnelly, Don Chapman and Mick Flynn by 13-12.
Team Flynn got away to a good start, leading 6-1 after four ends.
It was a challenge for team O'Farrell to get back into the game.
Team O'Farrell trailed by 7-6 shots after nine ends.
The game was very tight from then on as neither side got the upper hand.
The score was level at 10-all after 16 ends and 11-all after 18 ends.
With one end to play, the score was level at 12-all.
Team O'Farrell scored one shot on the final end to record victory.

Barry Werfel, Jim Starkey, Bill Meredith and Robin Staples def Kel Limbrick, Bill Dodwell, Don Coleman and Gordon Lewis 20-13.
Colin Stone, Howard Lewis and Brian Porter def Bernie Michael, Bob Kennett and Peter Morales 22-20.
John Fleming, Jack Davis and Neville Tanner def Kurt Griebenow, Neville Ridge and Bruce Clynes 21-16.
Pennant trials
PENNANT trials took place recently at Bowral Bowling Club.
Selectors have a job on their hands to get balanced teams together.
There may be some shock selections in the weeks ahead.
In the match of the day, Viv Gear, Owen Williams, Bruce Clynes and Robin Staples defeated Barry O'Brien, Don Coleman, Bob Edwards and David Coltman by 18-15.
Team Staples went to a 10-0 lead after six ends, before Coltman's men got back into the game.
Team Coltman started to get on top, winning five ends in a row to trial 10-9.
A strong last few ends helped team Staples run out winner.
District events
BOWRAL will be represented at state events over the coming weeks.
It is time for members to give their support where possible.
