Bowral Police Inspector John Klepczarek said a 24-year-old driver from Hill Top was driving the 2013 purple Kenworth truck when it left the roadway and hit the power pole.
The power pole was knocked completely over as a result of the incident which took place just after midday on Monday, 50 metres north of Victoria Street.
A splintered stump was all that remained of the power pole following the accident.
NSW Fire and Rescue staff and police attended the scene, as did linesmen and line crews from Endeavour Energy, who cleared the downed power lines and worked to repair the damage.
