“Air emissions from the pressure bleeders at the top of the furnace are an unavoidable event immediately prior to the completion of the blast furnace rundown,” the spokesman said.
“The visible plume is predominately steam from the raw gas cooling of the furnace top.
“The steam plume will carry some dust.”
