HIGHLANDER Caleb Ewan is in the running for a major sporting award.
Ewan, 21, is a nominee for a gong at this year's AIS Sport Performance Awards (ASPA).
The Moss Vale cyclist is among the contenders for the ASPA Emerging Athlete of the Year.
Other nominees in Ewan's category are para-athlete Isis Holt, basketballer Ben Simmons and triathlete Jacob Birthwhistle.
The ASPA winners will be announced at a gala ceremony at Star City Sydney on February 24.
Other awards to be handed out on the night include Sporting Moment of the Year, and Male and Female Athlete of the Year.
Cycling and swimming have seven and six finalists respectively for the ASPA awards.
The public has been invited to judge two awards.
Fans are able to vote for the ABC Sports Personality of the Year and the Destination NSW Team of the Year.
Fans can cast their votes by February 17 at www.aisawards.abc.net.au
