Ms Bright said she was “quite chuffed” when she heard the news.
She has been involved with the Country Women’s Association and the United Hospitals Auxiliary over a number of years.
In addition to this, she has worked at a number of hospitals and colleges throughout her nursing career.
These include Princess Alexandra Hospital, Campbelltown Private Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, the Australian College of Nursing, the Institute of Nursing Administration of New South Wales and ACT and the Australian College of Health Services Administrators.
Ms Bright is a big believer in giving back to the community as it “makes the world go around”.
“You can do as much or as little as you can,” she said.
“Some people can afford time, other people can afford money - I think one does in life what one should.”
