However, on a recent walk undertaken quite close to Hill Top and led by Malcolm Hughes, the walkers were given a new experience when they followed a creek underground along its route as part of the walk.
The Cave Creek Walking Track begins off Wilson Drive just a few kilometres west of Hill Top, heading towards Balmoral. Apart from this interesting underground hydrological feature this walk also features some other unique rock formations and a rail cutting, which was once one of the deepest in Australia.
This moderate 7km loop walk packs in all the above features with an abundance of lookouts and rock overhangs.
