A training and information day was hosted by the Southern Highlands Branch of the NSW Justice Association last week, held at Pepperfield House in Bowral to revisit key processes undertaken by Justices of the Peace (JPs).
The training day welcomed 40 guests, including 24 Southern Highlands branch members along with four from the Shoalhaven branch, nine independent JPs and two representatives from Wingecarribee Shire Council.
Peter Enderby, The Justice of the Peace magazine editor was also in attendance. Southern Highlands Branch liaison officer John Reid said the day was held for JPs servicing the community.
"From the independents we had here, we have at least three looking to join the branch," he said. "We're looking forward to having others join the roster services at our community desks throughout the Highlands."
Members of the community are advised there will be closures to the regular JP desks throughout the Highlands over the Christmas and New Year period.
