Kids on Show will showcase the artwork of students from schools throughout the Highlands.
There will be a range of works in different mediums which will include pencil, paintings, ceramics and 3D.
Bowral District Art Sociert office co-ordinator Fiona Fudge said the gallery encouraged children to be interested in art.
"One of the students got an award last year and their teacher said it was really nice for him to be recognised because he struggled with everything else," Ms Fudge said.
"I've also heard from so many adults who've had a terrible experience with their art in school,"
"Their teacher has thrown their artwork in the bin and they've never picked it up again - we encourage them to in our classes."
She also said that children who previously took part in the exhibition have studied art in further years.
"We've seen students go on to enter high school competitions and progress to the National Art School" Ms Fudge said.
Schools were able to submit a maximum of 20 works into the exhibition which had to be produced in class throughout 2015.
Last year, the gallery received entries from 15 local primary schools, six after school art groups and several entries from home schooled children.
Fiona said this year the gallery received so many entries, the walls of the gallery were full.
Kids on Show will run from tomorrow to Sunday, December 6 from 10am to 4pm at Bowral Art Gallery.
The official opening will be held at 5.30pm today.
Entry is free and all are welcome.
Bowral Art Gallery is located at 1 Short Street, Bowral.
