A rhyme for garden time
RECENTLY I went to Bundanoon's Garden Ramble, had a good time and decided to write a poem about it:
Last week Bundanoon had a garden ramble - great,
Down at my sisters at Wingello, enjoying a holiday break.
Let's go -suggested my sister, so we set off, my sister, her hubby and me,
Bought a ticket, nine gardens, for a $20 fee.
And spread over the weekend too,
What value, better than a ticket to the zoo.
So went drove around Bundy, to see what we could see,
And lo and behold the first garden we picked had a monstrous tree.
Every garden was different, in each and every way,
And one even had an area where the children could play.
I'm not a garden person, I don't weed or plant or grow,
But I respect and appreciate someone in the know.
It truly was amazing, to see what people had done,
And if Bundy had a garden comp, it would be hard to pick just one.
My sister has lived in the Highlands for approximately 30 years,
And finally this year, I attended both the Highland Games, now Garden Ramble - cheers.
I enjoyed both events - so guess what,
I'll be back next year for both again, and hope that it's raining - not.
