The range of entertainment on offer over the long weekend and tours of Berrima Gaol saw the facility packed with people.
From volunteers to locals as well as visitors from afar, everyone was given the chance to enjoy a glimpse of a local attraction, usually off-limits to the public.
“This is only the second time the gaol has been open to the public,” Berrima Rotary Club president Allen Cupitt said.
“There’s so much on offer and it’s really about providing access to something that is a big part of our history, and helping to keep it in a great condition for the community.”
Berrima Rotary Club donated mulch, plants and garden items so that the exterior of the gaol could be “brought up to scratch” and made presentable ahead of the event.
More than 1500 people poured through the gaol gates on the weekend, with Mr Cupitt expecting 3000 to have visited throughout the three-day event.
“The events have been fantastic and we’re really pleased,” Mr Cupitt said.
