THE FIRST prize in the Value your Creative Mind exhibition currently showing in the Wingecarribee Shire Council foyer has been won by The Disability Trust, for a paper mache hanging titled Hang In There.

The award was accepted by art therapist Carrie Vogel.
"Thanks to all my wonderful students who contributed. Lots of joy and fun went into the project," she said.
First prize is also the Jenny Davies Happy Feet Memorial Award in memory of a late Disability Trust worker known for her enthusiasm, compassion and empathy for clients and The Haven Project, happy "from her head to her feet".
Second prize was awarded to Mission Australia, for Love , and was accepted by Myriam Kadow.
"This would not be possible without Lucja; my clients love the art classes with Lucja," Ms Kadow said.
Tim Lawler, for A Dream Within A Dream (colour photograph) won third prize.
The exhibition is now open for the public to vote for their favourite artwork in the People's Choice Award.
Artworks range across mediums, such as oils, acrylics, multimedia and photography. All but one works are by people with experience of mental illness, either firsthand or as a carer.
Several works are by former residents of the Sunshine Lodge, and most of the works are available to buy.
The artworks in Value Your Creative Mind will be on show at the Wingecarribee Shire Council foyer gallery for Mental Heath Month until Friday, October 30, open 8.30am to 4.30pm weekdays.
