A man who escaped from Goulburn Correctional Centre has been arrested in Unanderra.
At about 5.10pm on Thursday, October 1, a Traffic and Highway Patrol vehicle stopped another vehicle on Five Islands Road in Unanderra.
The passenger was identified as the 25-year-old man who escaped the correctional facility in Goulburn yesterday and was arrested.
Two women who were also in the vehicle have been arrested and all three occupants of the vehicle were taken to local police stations where they will assist with inquiries.
Police have thanked the public and the media for their assistance.
UPDATE OCT 1, 11.45AM:
A SEARCH is underway for a prisoner who escaped Goulburn Correctional Centre on Wednesday.
Beau Wiles, the 25-year-old escapee, was last seen at a work area outside the minimum security facility in Goulburn just before 10am on September 30.
Acting Commander Superintendent Chad Gillies of the Hume Local Area Command said the inmate was a "minimum security" prisoner.
A Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) spokesperson said the inmate had absconded from a work facility outside the secure perimeter of the Goulburn Correctional Complex.
CSNSW notified the NSW Police Force after Wiles escaped, and at the time of print a search was still underway for the prisoner.
Questions have been raised about a Facebook page under the name of Beau Wiles, which has had text and photos uploaded to it.
At this stage it is unclear whether the page has been used by the prisoner himself, or someone purporting to be Wiles.
A photo was uploaded to the page which appears to be Wiles dressed only in his underwear, in what looks like his jail cell.
A CSNSW spokesperson said inmates were not permitted access to mobile phones, cameras or the internet. "Corrective Services NSW is aware that there are photographs of the escapee on a Facebook page set up in his name, which appear to have been taken inside his cell."
"We are investigating who was operating the account and how the pictures were taken."
Wiles is serving an 18-month sentence for shoplifting and driving whilst disqualified.
Wiles is described as being of Caucasian appearance, around 180cm tall and 100kg in weight.
He has tattoos on his lower forearms and was last seen wearing a green prison uniform.
Any members of the public who sight Wiles should call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
Police have warned the public not to approach the prisoner if they see him.
UPDATE SEP 30, 11PM:
THE search for escaped prisoner Beau Wiles continues, more than 12 hours after the inmate was last sighted.
Police have asked the public to be aware and report any sightings of the prisoner, aged 25, to Triple Zero.
Wiles, who was last seen outside the minimum security facility of Goulburn Correctional Centre, is serving an 18-month sentence.
A Facebook page under the name Beau Wiles has had photos uploaded to it over the past month. At this stage it is unclear whether the page has been used by the prisoner himself, or someone purporting to be him.
The page shows a photo that appears to be Wiles dressed only in his underwear, in what looks like his jail cell.
Corrective Services NSW will investigate whether this page has been accessed or used by the prisoner, and if that is the case, how use of a mobile - which is prohibited by inmates - was possible.
This is the second escape from the correctional centre in a six week period.
Maximum security prisoner Stephen Jamieson was arrested in mid-August after his escape from the same facility in Goulburn.
Jamieson allegedly used a pillow and a rope made of bed sheets to scale a wall at the complex.
