A 16-YEAR-OLD boy has been charged with reckless wounding in company and steal motor vehicle after a security guard was stabbed at Moss Vale.

The attack took place at a sporting field between Donkin Street and James Taunton Drive at about 9pm on Tuesday night.
A car with three occupants was seen to be doing burnouts on the oval by the security guard, aged 72, who approached the car and attempted to take the keys from the ignition.
A struggle followed, which resulted in the guard receiving several stab wounds to his hand and back.
Hume Local Area Command (LAC) Acting Commander Superintendent Chad Gillies previously described the tool used in the attack as "a sharp-edged object".
The guard contacted emergency services and was treated at the scene before he was taken to Liverpool Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police from the Hume LAC began an investigation into the incident yesterday, and arrested a 16-year-old boy last night.
The teen was charged with reckless wounding in company, and steal motor vehicle.
He has been refused bail and will appear at a Children's Court today.
Hume LAC police will continue to investigate the incident and the identity of the other people involved.
A statement from police yesterday indicated the investigation could be helped by two males and a female who were travelling in a red hatchback.
- The male driver was described as being between 16-18 years old, wearing a dark top and pants.
- The female passenger was described as being aged between 14-15 years old and a slim build.
- The male passenger was described as being aged between 14-15 years old.
Supt. Chad Gillies yesterday appealed to the public to come forward if they had noticed any youths acting suspiciously in the vicinity of Donkin Street, James Taunton Drive or the adjacent sporting field on Tuesday evening, or had any information about the incident.
"Anyone who may have been in those particular areas at about 9 or 9.30pm [on Tuesday evening] and may have seen anyone of a similar description, or even just a number of young people acting suspiciously in the area, I would encourage them to contact Crime Stoppers or Bowral Police Station," he said.

POLICE have appealed for information following the stabbing of a security guard in Moss Vale.
At about 9pm on Tuesday evening a security guard approached a vehicle that was doing burnouts at the sporting field off Donkin Street in Moss Vale.
The security guard spoke to the three occupants of the vehicle and attempted to take the keys out of the ignition.
One of the male occupants got out of the car and challenged the guard with what Hume Local Area Command acting commander superintendent Chad Gillies described as "a sharp-edged object".
A physical altercation ensued and the guard received stab wounds to his hand and back. Supt. Gillies said the security guard's injuries were non-life threatening.
The young male returned to the car and all three drove away.
The 72-year-old security guard called emergency services and was treated at the scene before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.
Bowral Police continue to investigate the incident and have appealed for information.
"I think it's [the attack] something that is going to anger the local community of Moss Vale and the surrounding areas," Supt. Gillies said.
"Here we have a guy out there doing a hard job, at nighttime, trying to protect the community and unfortunately now we have an incident that started off as a low-level incident, and it's now progressed into something quite serious."
Supt. Gillies said those responsible, if identified, would face serious criminal charges and that detectives from The Hume Local Area Command were working on a number of firm leads.
"My message to those people involved is 'Do the right thing, hand yourselves into police before police knock on your door',' Supt. Gillies said.
"One thing I can guarantee is that our detectives are going to work overtime on this to try and identify those responsible."

POLICE held a media conference at Bowral Police station to share the details regarding a stabbing at Moss Vale overnight.
Acting Commander Superintendent Chad Gillies of The Hume Local Area Command said there were three occupants in the car.
"The driver was male, aged 16-18 wearing a dark jumper and shorts," he said.
"There were two passengers: a female aged 13-14 and another male aged 14-15."
The car driven was a small, red hatchback.
The attack took place at a sporting field at Bevan Badgery Park in Moss Vale, between Donkin Street and James Taunton Drive.
The victim is expected to be interviewed by police this afternoon.

INITIAL STORY:
A SECURITY guard was stabbed at Moss Vale on Tuesday evening.
The 72-year-old was found at a park on Donkin Avenue with a non-life threatening wound to his back at about 9.15pm on September 29.
Bowral Police inspector John Klepczarek said the man had been harmed following a confrontation with youths.
"The security guard saw a car doing burnouts on the football field and went to speak to the driver," he said.
"There were other passengers in the car and a young person pulled out a knife."
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics and was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment.
Police will address the media this morning regarding investigations into the circumstances that led to the stabbing.
