As primary schools in the Highlands participate in Book Week, youngsters have been busy finding and making creative costumes of their favourite fictional characters to parade during Book Week.
Impressive outfits have been seen shire-wide, with everything from princesses to penguins parading around schools.
The Book Week theme this year was 'books light up our world' and schools have celebrated by participating in library activities, storytime and colourful parades.
Book Week is an initiative of The Children's Book Council of Australia, which celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
