Volunteers are needed to assist visitors with self-guided tours of the gaol during the daytime and to help manage three evening entertainment events.
Dubbed Gaolbreak Mark 2, the event is again being organised by the Rotary Club of Berrima District to raise funds for essential community projects.
The gaol will be open for tours from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday, October 3 and 4, and from 9am to 1pm on Monday, October 5.
Volunteers are needed to control crowds, check and sell tickets and direct visitors to points of interest. People with experience of dealing with ticketed entry to large venues are particularly needed.
On Friday evening, October 2, there will be a festival of blues music, on Saturday evening a reprise of Gaolbreak's hugely popular opera concert and on Sunday evening a performance of Cullen and Fahey's Dead Men Talking, a two-man show of verse, yarns and song.
Volunteers are needed as ushers, for food service and bar duties (needs RSA certificate).
In between there is an concert on the Saturday with stars from the Opera Australia performing.
Berrima Rotary Club president Allen Cupitt said he was expecting the event to be as popular as the first one, with many people still keen to see inside the historic gaol.
"The first event exceeded our expectations and we believe this second one will be a must-do event for people planning their Labour Day weekend activities," he said.
Mr Cupitt said the event would give new volunteers a rare opportunity to see inside the landmark local gaol and would be of particular interest to those interested in its history, including a period in World War I when it housed German internees.
Volunteers would also have the satisfaction of knowing they were contributing to a worthy cause.
"We are immensely grateful to our volunteers for their help in raising essential funds for local community projects and other Rotary initiatives," Mr Cupitt said.
Volunteers interested in taking on any of the roles available should register their interest straight away.
