Bowral retained fire fighter Max Cottingham said the brigade had attended 14 structure or buildings fires since June 1.
The statistics come on the back of the Fire and Rescue NSW's (FRNSW) Operation Cold Snap campaign.
The initiative started on July 17 and the launch coincided with the day it snowed in the Highlands.
Operation Cold Snap ran for two weeks and focused on the community engaging in fire safety.
Mr Cottingham said it was important that Highlanders didn't leave fire safety to chance.
He said in the case of a fire, people needed to get out of their home and stay outside.
"Don't go back in the home," Mr Cottingham said. "People should always have two methods of escape."
