August 28 is Daffodil Day, one of Cancer Council Australia's major annual fundraisers.
The charity estimates one in two men and one in three women will experience a form of cancer by 85.
Their patient statistics reveal about 350 Australians are diagnosed with cancer every day.
All proceeds from Daffodil Day will go towards cancer research and patient care and advocacy.
Patient care locally includes services such as the volunteer-run weekday bus to radiotherapy at Campbelltown Hospital.
The Southern Highlands General and Practical Support Services (GAPS) can provide carer respite, shopping, housework and meals.
Find Daffodil Day goods at most local newsagencies, service stations and supermarkets, or donate online at daffodilday.com.au
And brighten a cancer patient's day with a bundle of the blooms delivered to the Southern Highlands Cancer Centre in the private hospital, 99 Bowral St.
