Learn how to develop bushfire survival plan for your horses at a workshop organised by Canyonleigh Rural Fire Brigade this Sunday August 2.
The Canyonleigh brigade has secured the services of noted Equine Scientist Emily James who has many years of training and a unique understanding of horse and owner behaviour in stressful scenarios.
Ms James will run the two-and-a-half hour event in two sessions: the theory will be held at the Canyonleigh Fire Shed, and a practical session at a nearby property including hands-on practice with horses in simulated conditions.
With the forecast of an El Nino event for the upcoming summer, which increases the potential and risk of bush fires, horse owners of the Southern Highlands are urged to attend this one-off event that starts at 1.30pm.
