MORE than 50 golfers took part in the annual Legacy charity day at Bowral Golf Club last Thursday.
Misty rain early in the day did not deter players who hit off on an Irish four-ball shotgun start event.
The golfers were rewarded as the showers cleared and the sun came out.
A lunch followed play, with many guests and supporters joining the ranks to raise funds for the Berrima Division of Sydney Legacy.
Lady club president Carole Turpie expressed her thanks for the excellent support from members and sponsors in raising close to $2000 for Legacy.
Turpie said Legacy was very active in the Southern Highlands.
The Irish four-ball winners were the "Legacy Lads" team of John Jones, David Farthing, Peter Girven and Warren Ryan with a score of 59.
Runners-up were Tony Dick, Faye Frith and Jeff Spender with 58 points.
There was a huge raffle on the day and many prizes donated by generous sponsors.
On behalf of Legacy, David Farthing thanked the Bowral Golf Club Ladies for organising an excellent day of golf.
Farthing asked for everyone's support for the Services and Legacy Day, which is held annually in November at the Bowral Golf Club.
This year's guest of honour will be Rear Admiral, The Honourable, Peter Sinclair AC, Governor of NSW from 1990 to 1996.
