TIRAWA Gristwood is strapped up and ready to go for his next scooter riding challenge.
Gristwood, 16, has shrugged off an ankle concern in the lead-up to the Australian Scooter Association (ASA) Australian Titles.
The titles will be held on May 31 at Monster Skatepark, Sydney Olympic Park.
The athlete hurt his right ankle last year and the injury has flared up again.
The Moss Vale teenager said he had been unable to ride for close to a week, but he would be okay to ride at the ASA titles.
A top 10 placing would allow Gristwood to progress to the 2015 Scooter World Championship in Barcelona in June.
Gristwood secured a 14th place finish at the 2014 championship, which booked him a place at the Scooter World Championship.
He finished 40th at the world championship in 2014.
However, Gristwood remains focused on overcoming one hurdle at a time.
He said he would face tough competition at the ASA Australian Titles.
"There are a few new riders this year," Gristwood said.
"I expect a tough challenge but hope to do well."
