Bowral's senior rugby union side secured its first victory since 2010 in the Illawarra Rugby Competition on Saturday.
The Blacks played more than 90 matches since its last win.
The team scrapped its way to a 19-18 win in extra time against Camden on the weekend.
Camden had an opportunity to win the game, but a goal conversion attempted swayed wide.
Bowral head coach Paul Frean said it was a "watershed weekend" for the club's seniors.
"It was historical for us and I don't believe it will be a one-off win," he said.
"Our players are getting better all the time and the club's culture is right.
"We have broken a five-year drought - it's been between 90 and 100 games since we've won."
Frean said the Blacks standout performer was loose head prop Luke Debono, who was named players' player.
He said Debono dominated his opposite number which launched a strong platform his team mates.
Frean said other standouts included fly half Justin Madden and captain Tim Lewis (number eight).
He said Bowral got the fundamentals right on Saturday, proving solid in defence and with ball in hand.
"We were probably the better team on the day anyway," he said.
"Hopefully we will go from strength to strength."

It wasn't such a positive result for Bowral's second grade side which lost 40-12 to Camden.
The Blacks started the match with running to establish a 12-0 advantage after 15 minutes.
However, Camden found the ascendency to run away with a 28-point win.
