HIGHLANDS driver Andy Harris has received a timely boost as he aims to push ahead in his 2015 motorsport campaign.
The Hill Top resident has had a new engine installed in his 2003 Mazda MX5 which is set to make the vehicle go faster.
Andy, 19, will test drive the car at Goulburn's Wakefield Park ahead of his next race.
Round two of the MX5 Cup will be contested at Wakefield Park on Sunday, April 26.
Andy's dad Russell Harris said his son would adjust well to his Mazda's upgrade.
"It will be a faster car so it can only help him get better," Russell said.
"He will be fine."
It has been more than a month since Andy last competed at Wakefield.
Andy and Russell teamed up for a second place finish in the Valvoline Wakefield 3000 division B race on February 28.
Russell said he expected his son to put up a strong challenge next Sunday.
Fellow Highlanders David Stone and Cam Worner are also expected to race in the MX5 Cup round.
"Andy will adjust to the car quickly," he said.
"The Mazda looks flash and it's a lot quicker car."
