For a short period, rugby union players took to the netball courts.
Well-known rugby clubs Sydney University and Eastern Suburbs were in town for a showcase of the game.
Some players from both clubs helped to conduct the ball toss before a Southern Highlands Netball Association (SHNA) match.
Eridge Park was a hive of activity as 26 rugby union and netball games were played at the facility.
More than 1000 spectators headed to the park to watch Sydney Uni and Easts contest seven matches.
The event was hosted by the Bowral Rugby Club and games were open to colts (under-20s) and senior players.
The day was highlighted by a Shute Shield clash.
The shield is considered to be the premier grade rugby competition in NSW.
In a thrilling contest, Eastern Suburbs came from behind to record a 26-25 win.
Bowral Rugby Club head coach Paul Frean said it was a great game.
"It was a very high standard of play," he said.
"It was clinical, the speed and execution of play from both teams was impressive.
"The players are well drilled and fit and strong."
Frean said Eridge Park was packed for the day.
"There was some wonderful rugby and the conditions were perfect," he said.
"Sydney Uni has indicated that it is keen to come back, which is a sign of a successful event."
The rugby action was complemented by round two of the SHNA competition on the adjacent netball courts.
SHNA competition co-ordinator Kate Bow said the netball and rugby worked well together.
"It was really good," she said.
"There were good netball games and everything went really well."
Bow said there were close netball contests on Saturday.
"Everyone picked up their game well from round one," she said.
"The training has really kicked in for players - there is a continuity and flow in the games."
SHNA players will now break for the school holidays and return to the courts on May 2.
